Emmanuel Macron’s speech at the Sorbonne – Politics

Emmanuel Macron locates Europe in a dramatic, even fatally risky moment in its history. “Europe is mortal,” said France’s president in a new keynote speech on the future of the continent at La Sorbonne University in Paris: “Europe can die.” Threatened by wars, by competition from less rule-abiding trading powers, and also by their own dislike and self-doubt. Europeans could avert the “existential risk,” he said, if they wanted to. What is needed is a quick reaction, now, immediately, with paradigm shifts in many areas.
