Emmanuel Macron’s father finds the French “very ungrateful” with his son

Don’t touch my son. This Tuesday, Jean-Michel Macron, the father of the current French president, was interviewed in the republican east. “I have a lot of admiration for the way he currently runs the state,” said the regional daily, this father visibly quite proud of his offspring. “I find that you have to have a lot of courage and that the French are very ungrateful, but that’s nothing new,” he added from his home in Amiens.

“I approve of 90% of what he does. We never agree 100%. I am not a follower of a sect,” adds the former neurologist. “He had a lot of merit in facing up to everything that fell on his head, especially the Covid,” he believes. And, since the start of the war in Ukraine, “he had a lot of courage” and “there are not many European leaders who have done what he has done”. As for the results of the second round, he says he believes in the victory of Emmanuel Macron, even if he recognizes that “we are always worried about his children”.

Jean-Michel Macron indicates that he does not see “often” his son, with the “timetable” which is his. “The last time he came to see me kindly here, in the house where he grew up, was November 21, 2019, on the occasion of the inauguration of the new faculty of sciences in Amiens”, says he, indicating that, “for the moment, there is nothing planned” to celebrate a possible re-election of his son on Sunday evening.
