Emmanuel Macron responds to the 12 priorities of the citizen’s agenda “My France 2022”

Emmanuel Macron is the exceptional guest by Wendy Bouchard in the program Ma France, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., this Tuesday, March 22. Exclusively on France Bleu, for one hour, the presidential candidate reacts to the twelve priorities of the Citizen Agendaresulting from the “Ma France” citizen consultation, conducted on our website in partnership with France 3 and Make.org.

Probity in politics: Emmanuel Macron in favor of exemplarity, but not the requirement of a clean criminal record

Emmanuel Macron was challenged on priority number 1 of the Citizen’s Agenda, probity in politics. He defended his record on the matter: “Laws were passed at the beginning of this mandate”recalled the President. “We have strengthened things a lot. The elements of transparency in public life, declarations of assets, potential conflicts of interest which govern the lives of deputies, ministers and public decision-makers”, he argued. Emmanuel Macron took the example of “the prohibition of the B2 criminal record, therefore, which marks the most serious convictions for those who want to stand for election”. He also recalled having “put an end to family jobs”. The president also recalled that Parliament has put an end to the parliamentary reserve, a kitty used at the discretion of deputies or senators.

Questioned by Jean-Raphaël, a listener from the Basque Country, Emmanuel Macron did not support the requirement of a clean criminal record for elected officials. To support his point, he took the example of Eric Zemmour: “He is condemned for the comments he made. Is it up to justice to say that, by his words, he does not have the right to be a candidate? I am not sure”, he asserted. “That’s why I think there needs to be a limit, and what has been defined by the legislator, to have a B2 record, I was a little more in favor of it”, he asserted.

“But there, on remarks which fall under an offense of opinion which is punishable by justice, and it is very good that it does it, which are recognized as serious, even if it is good to continue in our society to sometimes condemn serious remarks, it is necessary to find this limited space”, he said.

Against medical deserts, encourage doctors in training to practice in medium-sized towns

Questioned by Nicolas, who lives in Mayenne, on the question of medical deserts, Emmanuel Macron defended the decision to open numerus clausus for doctors. He acknowledged that while young doctors are trained, the situation will remain delicate: “It is expanding and in the next few years will expand,” he conceded.

To attract young doctors to under-resourced areas, Emmanuel Macron said he wanted to encourage doctors in training to do part of their training in medium-sized towns. “We must succeed in training more young people as close as possible to the territory”, he summarized. “If we want there to be doctors who settle, there must be this experience in their studies”, he said. Emmanuel Macron wants to allow medical students to “do more of their internships and especially internships in medium-sized towns and with town doctors and country doctors. This is what we are encouraging, which we are going to multiply and in particular for general practitioners.”, he asserted. To encourage the installation of young doctors, once trained, in rural areas, the candidate for his re-election stated that he wanted to ensure that this installation “is done in a very incentive way, but as much as possible in these places. And that is to be negotiated with the orders of doctors”, he said.

The largest citizen consultation ever conducted online

“My France 2022” is the largest citizen consultation ever conducted in line. It brought together 34,000 proposals for the France of tomorrow, issued by more than a million participants. These ideas gathered seven million votes, which made it possible to establish the twelve priorities of the Citizens’ Agenda. Probity of political leaders, health, purchasing power… Emmanuel Macron responds directly to the priorities of the French.
