Emmanuel Macron denounces “the irresponsibility and selfishness” of the unvaccinated

Traveling in French Polynesia, Emmanuel Macron once again defended vaccination to fight against the coronavirus. “We have a weapon that must be used, which is the vaccine […] I want to send out a very strong message to call on everyone to be vaccinated ”,
he pleaded during a visit to a hospital in Tahiti.

While the Delta variant continues to spread on the territory, the Head of State wanted to address the large number of French people who are still not vaccinated. “We are all attached to freedom […] But what is your freedom worth if you tell me “I don’t want to be vaccinated”? But if tomorrow you infect your father, your mother or myself, I am a victim of your freedom when you had the possibility of having something to protect you and me. “

“I’m not for the post-truth”, tackle Macron

“And in the name of your freedom, maybe you will get a serious form and you will come to this hospital. It is all these personnel who will have to take care of you and perhaps give up taking someone else […] This is not freedom, it is called irresponsibility, egoism ”, continued the President of the Republic.

In the aftermath of new demonstrations across France against the health pass, the Head of State also sharply attacked the demonstrators. “Each and every one is free to express themselves calmly, with respect for the other” but “there are people who are in the irrational mobilization, sometimes cynical, manipulative”, estimates Emmanuel Macron. “I am not for the post-truth because I think that when it comes to science, there are some true things and others which are false”, appealing for unity.
