In March, “there was an acceleration. This corresponds to the fact that the variant has become very predominant in several departments. We have adapted our response, ”he further indicated. “We were right to take braking measures. There is no taboo. Each time we have to have the most suitable answer. This has therefore led the government to order containment measures in around twenty departments now, including all of Ile-de-France and Hauts-de-France.
Because of a “balance to be struck” when it comes to establishing new health rules – citing the consideration of mental health, difficulties for young people, the educational priority and the economic and social consequences – Emmanuel Macron stressed that “there is no simplistic answer to this context. “New measures to be taken in the coming weeks”
