Eminem and 50 Cent Join Forces in 8 Mile Coming to TV Series | entertainment

Finally a sequel?

The film drama “8 Mile” is already 20 years old. The Oscar winner (best song) still enjoys a huge following today. Never before has the cinema brought rap music to the screen so intensely and authentically. The figurehead of the classic: Eminem (50).

Even then, the hip-hop legend was a megastar who played a major film role for the first time in “8 Mile”. Bravely – although the story is fictional, the film is considered an unofficial biopic of Eminem, who plays an aspiring rapper in the poor areas of Detroit in the musical drama.

The film is also famous for the role of Brittany Murphy, who tragically and mysteriously died seven years later at the age of only 27.

Now there should actually be a sequel: rap colleague 50 Cent (47) announced in an interview with the YouTube channel “Big Boy TV” that he is planning a TV series for “8 Mile” together with Eminem.

“We’re working on it,” confirms the musician, whom Eminem discovered himself 20 years ago and recorded him on his record label. “I think it should be his legacy,” says 50 Cent about the ambitious project.

He also hints at the first details. For example, that the show should tell the background to the movie and shed light on Eminem’s younger years.

At the age of 12 he moved from his native Missouri to Detroit, where “8 Mile” is also set. So Eminem’s difficult childhood and first steps in music could play a role in the series.

“I want to be able to show and offer much more detail,” announces 50 Cent. But he’s not really concrete yet.
