This Saturday, Emine Sevgi Özdamar will receive the Georg Büchner Prize from the German Academy for Language and Poetry in Darmstadt. “When I thought of Georg Büchner, I longed for him,” says her most recent novel, “A Room Delimited by Shadows,” which was published in 2021. The award ceremony also fulfills something in her work. Time to think back to the beginnings of her writing.
