Emil Forsberg is set to leave RB Leipzig in the winter: move to New York

Quote from Alexifly

In the current season, there is no need to give up a player who is an identification figure and also occupies a position in which perhaps the best player in the squad is currently injured (Olmo) and in which another outstanding player will most likely also be gone after the season (Xavi ), is extremely incomprehensible to me.

Plus the taste of the change in the Red Bull system. With the remaining term until 2025, money will flow between the individual “franchises”. Even I, as a Leipzig resident, can understand why this would once again attract criticism from all sides.
The only question is…why? No prospects under Rose? Is Forsberg tired of winning two titles in Leipzig? Big money beckons? Or does RBL urgently need money, which now has to be obtained in a roundabout way from the sisters’ club?

I don’t know it. Overall, I don’t like it at all.

I think Forsberg just wants to play. In perspective, his playing times look quite meager, his scorers and extended stats on fbref speak more against rather than for staying, so it sounds like a logical option to me to say “hey here you get your minutes and then you can be integrated” otherwise You wouldn’t do that at that age. In terms of position, Olmo is expected to come back at the end of the year, then he would be fit again (how long is the question), although Olmo may set up a job himself with a change in the summer.

Because of the transfer fee, I think (hope) that RB already knows a lot about compliance etc. and that it will be quite meager, otherwise you are right, if it is more than 5 million it would be noticeable.
