A little boy from Oldenburg has been missing for a week. The police are investigating in all directions.

Even a week after his disappearance, an eight-year-old boy from Oldenburg has not yet been found. The police are continuing the search and are following various clues, a police spokeswoman said on Friday.

The mentally handicapped boy was last seen last Friday (June 17). On Thursday, the police spoke of indications that Joe could have been the victim of a crime. In addition to the special organization organizing the search, a homicide squad was formed.

The people in the Lower Saxony university town are worried about the boy. Many also go looking on their own – like three people in their 30s who searched a playground and wooded areas in Wehnen on Friday. The small town on the outskirts already belongs to Bad Zwischenahn in the district of Ammerland. “There is a small child who needs help,” said one of the three. Joe is “a little boy from the neighborhood”, even if he doesn’t know him personally. He and his girlfriend have been on the lookout for the missing person for days on bike rides in the morning and in the evening.

According to their own statements, the police investigated in all directions from the start: “In addition to the missing person, an accident or a violent crime was never ruled out.”
