Attack with “aggressive substance”: Nine injured in London

In the British capital, several people are being treated because they came into contact with an unknown substance during an attack. Among them is a mother with two children.

In the event of an attack with a suspected corrosive substance, A woman and two children were injured in London. Six other people were also injured, including passers-by who tried to help the victims after the incident on Wednesday evening, the police said.

A man fled the scene, the Metropolitan Police said. Investigators were called to the crime scene in the southern district of Clapham on Wednesday evening. Pictures showed an open car, the street was cordoned off.

Detective Superintendent Alexander Castle spoke of a horrific incident: “Investigations are still ongoing to determine what type of substance was involved.” The investigators assume an aggressive, corrosive substance.

The injured also included three police officers who were called to the scene. The officers were only slightly injured. The background to the crime is unclear and no one has been arrested yet. The police called on people with information to come forward.
