After almost four weeks at the European Championships in England, the German soccer players have left their previous team quarters and moved ahead of the final on Sunday.

The DFB entourage has been living in a rural luxury hotel in Watford, northwest of London, since Thursday afternoon. This was assigned to the team by the European Football Union UEFA.

“We don’t know the meaning,” said Joti Chatzialexiou, Head of National Teams at the German Football Association, after the hour-long journey with a smile: “It’s actually a UEFA requirement to do something good for the finalists before the final. We said , we’ll take it as it comes. It might be another change of scenery.” Goalkeeper Merle Frohms said of the new accommodation: “I think there is also a party location, so the conditions for Sunday are not bad.”

The change of accommodation involved a greater logistical effort, since a lot of material had to be transported. The record European champions were previously housed in Brentford, where he played three European Championship games. Only for the games against Finland and France in Milton Keynes did the selection around captain Alexandra Popp move into a day hotel.
