The finale of “The Crown” demanded a lot from Elizabeth Debicki. Because she had to depict Diana’s accidental death.

The final sixth season of the Netflix series “The Crown” starts on November 16th. It also deals with the accidental death of Princess Diana (1961-1997) – for actresses Elizabeth Debicki (33) is a real challenge, as she has now revealed.

“You’re really trapped”

On Sunday (November 12), she attended the premiere in Los Angeles in a black dress reminiscent of Diana’s famous 1994 “Revenge” dress. And in the interview with “The Hollywood Reporter” everything revolved around the late Queen of Hearts. Debicki took on the role of Princess of Wales in the fifth season and said that “it was a really unusual and beautiful job and always came with a lot of responsibility.” She felt this especially when filming the chase by the paparazzi in Paris.

The entire team understood “what we are bringing to the screen and how important it is to make it as good as possible.” The filming of the fateful night showed her: “It’s pretty disgusting, it’s very abusive to persecute someone like that.” It was “completely bizarre and a terrible experience.” The actress emphasizes: “You’re really trapped.” Filming these scenes is “not unlike a stunt” – “in the sense that the body is actually experiencing the pressure of the physical experience and therefore you are acting from a very instinctive place.” Her colleague Khalid Abdalla (42), who plays Dodi Al-Fayed (1955-1997), who also died, agreed with her and described filming the final season as “extremely emotional”.

The actress recreates Diana’s famous Vogue cover

Elizabeth Debicki isn’t just making a name for herself with her descriptions of the filming. She is also currently attracting a lot of attention with a cover for the “Radio Times”, as “The Sun” reported, among others. Because it recreates Diana’s iconic “Vogue” cover from December 1992. Like the princess once did, she wears a black turtleneck sweater, the same blonde short hairstyle and looks into the camera with big eyes.

The final season of “The Crown” comes in two parts: Netflix will release the first four episodes from November 16th, and the final episodes five to ten from December 14th. In its final season, the series covers the life of Queen Elizabeth II (1926-2022) and her family from 1997 to 2005.
