Since Germany survived the winter without an energy shortage, many citizens are relaxed. So it works without Vladimir Putin’s gas. But nobody should be too relaxed, because the Russian war of aggression will drive up energy prices for years to come. The federal government should therefore temporarily make electricity cheaper for industry so that hundreds of thousands of jobs are not lost. Because Economics Minister Robert Habeck slims down his plansit does not turn into a false long-term subsidy.
