Electric cars and charging stations: tapping into dark corners – Auto & Mobil

Charging an electric car on the freeway is often uncomfortable. Because many electricity pillars are remote, without rain protection and without a toilet. That’s better, isn’t it?

A charging station in the middle of the forest. Parking lots without lighting. Electric cars that are in the last corner: Arnie Kröger has been through a lot on her travels. “Recently I loaded up at a service area on the A1,” says the chairwoman of the Electrified Women association. “To get to the toilet, I first had to walk between the trucks in the dark. It’s a good thing that my girlfriend was with me.” Kröger likes to drive electrically, but she often feels uncomfortable during her charging breaks at night. “There is everything at petrol stations,” she says, “but many charging stations don’t even have a roof.” The difference between a petrol pump and a charging station? “Like heaven and hell,” says Kröger.
