A fan of the visiting Dutch team was seriously injured before the Champions League game between Borussia Dortmund and PSV Eindhoven on Wednesday. The 35-year-old was hit in the head and then fell to the ground unconscious, the police said on Thursday night. “Contrary to initial assessments, there was no danger to life,” it said.
Two people were involved in the altercation on the way to the stadium. The exact course of events and the identity of the perpetrator remained unclear. The injured man was taken to hospital. There were also at least two people injured on the Old Market due to the use of pyrotechnics who had to be treated by rescue workers.
