A 46-year-old man was sentenced Thursday by the Côtes-d’Armor Assize Court to eighteen years’ imprisonment for the murder of his partner, reports West France. The drama took place on the night of August 13 to 14, 2020 in Plougrescant near Lannion. After yet another alcoholic evening, the accused, mentally retarded, had killed with a knife near the heart the 46-year-old woman with whom he had been living for a year.
At the time of his arrest, the individual, who had alerted the firefighters, had 3.1 grams of alcohol in his blood. During the trial, which was held for three days in Saint-Brieuc, the forties acknowledged the facts but denied having intended to kill his companion. He was imprisoned after the hearing.
