A 39-year-old man was sentenced Thursday in Rennes to eighteen years’ imprisonment by the Assize Court of Ille-et-Vilaine. The accused was found guilty of murder and willful assault. Events that occurred on August 3, 2019 in ferns, east of Rennes. The victim, aged 49, had been killed with thirty stab wounds. The drama took place in the apartment of a young woman, who had also been injured in the throat by the thirties with a knife, reports West France.
A regular drug user, the accused obtained his narcotics from the deceased man. He had been arrested a few hours after the murder, at his father’s house, in a nearby town. At the hearing, he claimed to have reacted to defend himself from an attack after an argument.
