However, ten days ago, the police arrested two individuals in the middle of a drug transaction in the 15th arrondissement, in the northern districts of Marseille. One of the two suspects was at the wheel of a large engine registered in Poland, rented to a man also residing in the 15th district.
Carts rented 3,000 euros per day
“They were rental contracts made on the edge of the hood, by hand,” sighs David Brugère. The individual who hired them is French and unknown to the police. He had brought back eight cars on French territory, leased to a Polish company, which he subleased from hand to hand between 300 and 3,000 euros per day depending on the model. “
The catch? Cars registered in Poland, with a total cost of around 600,000 euros, did not have international insurance as required by the Highway and Insurance Code. The police seized the eight vehicles, including an Audi Q8 or a Golf 32, and then sent them to the impound. The sub-lessor for his part was fined 2,000 euros.
