Suspect arrested after bloody crime in Serbia

After an act of violence that killed eight people near Belgrade, the police arrested the alleged perpetrator. This was reported by several media in the morning. She had previously searched for the perpetrator with a large contingent. More than 600 police officers, including members of the anti-terrorist unit, were deployed in the morning with helicopters, drones and thermal imaging cameras, the state news agency Tanjug reported. Earlier reports had said that the perpetrator had been found and surrounded by the police.
On Thursday evening, a 21-year-old man reportedly shot a group of people with a rapid-fire rifle in the village of Dubona, 50 kilometers south-east of Belgrade. He killed eight people. More than ten others suffered injuries, as reported by Tanjug, citing the police. Interior Minister Bratislav Gasic described the bloody deed on Friday night as a “terrorist act”. Nothing was initially known about the motives behind the crime.
