David Velasco, editor-in-chief of the art magazine “Artforum”, has to leave because of an open letter critical of Israel.
Read it “Open Letter from the Art Community”, on October 19th on the website of Art Forum appeared, the world’s most influential art magazine, people rubbed their eyes. The constant bombardment of Gaza and the killing and forced evacuation of its residents were lamented there, but not a single word was said about the killing and taking hostage of Israeli civilians on October 7th. After the text caused considerable unrest among readers, authors and advertisers of the magazine published in New York, its editor-in-chief, David Velasco, who was responsible for the publication, was fired.
