The electrician has turned the page on 2022. Hydraulic electricity production grew by 32% in August.
EDF has won its bet. Its nuclear electricity production has started to rise again. In August, it stood at 23.9 terawatt hours (TWh), higher by 5.8 TWh than that of the same month in 2022. The cumulative annual production stood at 206.1 TWh, higher by 15 .1 TWh to that of the same period in 2022, in particular thanks to the optimization and control of Stress Corrosion projects.
The group’s management, under pressure from the government, has made this forced recovery one of its priorities. The group has set a nuclear electricity production target of between 300 and 350 TWh for the current year, compared to 279 TWh in 2022.

The production of hydraulic electricity for the month of August was up 32.4% year-on-year at 2.5 TWh, reflecting an optimization of the management of water stocks, but also more favorable precipitation. Since the start of the year, production from EDF dams in France has increased by 5.4% to 24.5 TWh.
