Eddie Redmayne has revealed he didn’t recognize his pal Robert Pattinson when he turned into Batman.

Eddie Redmayne (40) has on Jimmy Fallon’s “Tonight Show”. says he almost didn’t recognize his longtime buddy and fellow actor Robert Pattinson (35) when they met again. “We shot ‘Fantastic Beasts’ in the same studio Rob did ‘Batman’ in and we shared a gym.”

One day he went there and “there was this guy with a high ponytail, toned body and doing the most extraordinary stunts I’ve ever seen with his stunt trainer. This guy says ‘Hi’ and I say ‘Hi’ and then I just sit there and watch him do these incredible things while I do a simple sit-up in the corner,” says Redmayne. Only when saying goodbye did he recognize his friend. “He was completely changed physically, it was so amazing.”

Redmayne and Pattinson share a special past. At the beginning of their career, the British formed a kind of flat share with the now well-known actors Jamie Dornan (39), Andrew Garfield (28) and Charlie Cox (39). Pattinson has been in cinemas as Batman since early March. Redmayne returned as Newt Scamander in “Fantastic Beasts 3: Secrets of Dumbledore” on April 7th.
