New details about Axel Foley’s comeback

Axel Foley is back. Netflix published, among other things, on X (formerly Twitter) a first look at Eddie Murphy’s (62) cult police officer, who is celebrating his comeback with “Beverly Hills Cop 4”. Axel is wearing his signature Detroit Lions jacket and holding both hands up while people around him film the scene with their smartphones. The streaming service writes about the picture: “He’s back. Axel Foley returns in 2024!”

According to “Empire” the fourth part of the seriese by director Mark Molloy, which is made for Netflix, actress Taylour Paige (33) is introduced as Axel’s daughter, who works as a criminal lawyer. She will allegedly involve her father in a case in California. He has problems with an officer played by Kevin Bacon (65). According to the report, Axel teams up with a new partner, played by Joseph Gordon-Levitt (42).

Comeback after many years

Between 1984 and 1994, Eddie Murphy as Detective Axel Foley roamed the streets of the posh suburb of Beverly Hills in Los Angeles and shone with unconventional and entertaining investigative methods.

In part four, familiar faces from the original trilogy return: The actor Judge Reinhold (66) will once again portray the police officer Billy Rosewood, who became Foley’s partner and friend over the course of three films. John Ashton (75) plays the rough, experienced cop John Taggart – as he did in the original film and the sequel “Beverly Hills Cop II” from 1987.

Paul Reiser (67) as Foley’s Detroit colleague Jeffrey Friedman and Bronson Pinchot (64) as fan favorite Serge will also revive their old roles. Reiser sat out 1994’s Beverly Hills Cop III, while Pinchot’s role in the said film was significantly expanded after he previously sat out in part two.
