Immediately before Christmas, the Mayor of Allersberg, Daniel Horndasch, officially announced what everyone had already known since May. The Franconian community, not far from Nuremberg on the A 9 towards Munich, sells 19 hectares of land to the company P 3 Logistic Parks. This will then develop an industrial park for logistics companies, mainly for the online mail order company Amazon, which wants to set up a sorting center. The project is highly controversial; no less than three citizens’ initiatives have been working or are still working on them. Now the supporters are celebrating the mayor for bringing 40 million euros into the empty municipal coffers with the sale of the 19 hectares. Opponents reject the US shipping giant in principle and accuse Horndasch of cheating.
