Eching: Unknown people exchange signs on the Autobahn – Bavaria

Employees of the highway maintenance department could hardly believe their eyes when they suddenly drove into a 30 zone on the federal highway 92 on Friday morning. Actually, Tempo 80 should be signposted in the affected construction site area. But according to the police, someone had exchanged at least five speed signs near Eching on Friday night. Where the stolen signs were located was initially just as unclear as the identity of the unauthorized speed limiters. The wrongly placed traffic signs were seized. Now it is to be determined where the 30 signs came from.

In the Upper Palatinate, a very drunk driver was lucky that no one was injured during his wild drive. In Schwarzach near Nabburg, witnesses observed the man trying in vain to free his car from the ditch next to the state road 2159 and informed the police. Officers quickly figured out why the driver had veered off the road. The man was noticeably drunk, a breath alcohol test showed a value of 2.84 per thousand. A blood test was ordered, the driver’s license was secured and the car was towed away.

It was initially unclear whether the drunk wanted to drive or push his car out of the ditch. The 30-year-old is now facing a drunk driving charge.
