Ebersberg: SPD wants to stick to the wind turbine plan – Ebersberg

After the announcement of the bankruptcy of the investor Green City, the SPD faction in the Ebersberg district council is looking for ways to build wind turbines in the Ebersberg forest. In an emergency application, the party calls on the district office to “clarify promptly under what conditions and with which company the continuation of the project of five wind turbines in the Ebersberg forest can be realized”.

The bomb burst on Monday: The company Green City filed for bankruptcy, since then it has been completely unclear how the wind farm in the Ebersberg Forest, which Green City wanted to realize, will continue. The project had been disputed for years, and in May 2021 a majority in a referendum finally decided that it should be pursued. Actually, it should now go to the concrete preliminary investigations and planning. But things turned out differently.

Two parties spoke out on Tuesday. The SPD justifies its motion by saying that the district council decision to be free of fossil fuels by 2020 is mandatory. The district of Ebersberg had “also declared itself a climate protection region in 2019 and decided to promote climate protection with all our strength and seriousness”. Further delays in the project are “unacceptable”. The SPD application is signed by parliamentary group spokesman Albert Hingerl and district councilor Bianka Poschenrieder.

The Bavarian Party (BP), which in turn takes responsibility for District Administrator Robert Niedergesäß (CSU), finds much more drastic words. “Mr. District Administrator, finally resign,” says a statement by Ebersberg BP district chairman Gerhard Geiselhoeringer. “The repeated negligent trust of the political district leadership in the cloud cuckoo land of private companies at the expense of the district citizens really cries out to heaven,” it continues. The deputy general secretary of BP Bayern lists several points for which Niedergesäß should be criticized: “Whether the Schafweide, Kastensee, Sparkasse, etc. and now Green City biogas plant decide and act in the district, obviously only naive money wasters.”
