Andreas Lenz has represented the constituency of Ebersberg-Erding in Berlin since 2013. He has managed to be re-elected twice, incidentally always with a significantly better result than his CSU got in the second votes. That was also the case last autumn. At 42 percent, the candidate’s lead over the party was a good ten points. Their poor performance has now meant that the woman from Neuharting is no longer a member of any government faction, for the first time since he has been in the Bundestag. In an interview, he talks about what that means for his political work in the coming years and how important the seating plan in Parliament really is.
