Ebay is cutting almost every tenth job – economy

The eBay trading platform is cutting around 1,000 jobs to reduce its costs. The reduction will affect an estimated nine percent of full-time employees, wrote eBay boss Jamie Iannone in an email to employees published on Tuesday. The reason given was that expenses grew faster than business. Ebay is in fierce competition with, among others, Amazon and Chinese online retailers such as Temu and Shein. The forecast for the important Christmas quarter was recently weaker than the market expected.
