Earth, Wind and Fire member Andrew Woolfolk dies aged 71

Musician Andrew Woolfolk, former member of the band Earth, Wind and Fire, died at the age of 71 after six years of battling an illness, announced several American media, including variety. The information was confirmed by Philip Bailey, close to the saxophonist, singer and current member of the formation, on his Instagram account.

“I met him in high school, and we quickly became friends and bandmates,” he wrote. (…) He went to eternity, from this land of the dying to the land of the living. I have great memories of it. A great talent. Funny. Competitive. A sharp mind. And always stylish. Booski… I’ll see you on the other side, my friend. »

As Variety points out, Andrew Woolfolk joined Earth, Wind and Fire in 1973 and is notably featured on the group’s hit album That’s the Way of the World released in 1975. He left the band in 1984 then returned a few years later to leave again in 1993.
