E-mobility – VW in talks with Foxconn – Economy

According to informed sources, Volkswagen AG could work with Taiwan’s Foxconn Technology Group to produce battery-powered pickups and SUVs in the United States. VW is reportedly in talks with Foxconn about a possible cooperation on a plant for the production of the revived Scout brand. Another possible partner would be Magna International. A rather unlikely option is to build your own plant, they say. Volkswagen is “very pleased with the progress Scout is making and the enthusiasm it is able to ignite,” said Volkswagen when asked. Beyond that, no one wanted to comment. Foxconn did not immediately respond to inquiries. Wolfsburg has relaunched the Scout brand to get involved in the US pickup and SUV market.
