New dream duo? Chris Evans and Dwayne Johnson will be in front of the camera together for an Amazon Prime film later this year.

From Netflix to Amazon Prime, from “Red Notice” to “Red One” and from Ryan Reynolds (45) to Chris Evans (40): The latest film project by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson (49) is striking at first glance the action comedy that was released in November of last year. And also with “Red One”, this is what “Deadline” reports exclusively, it is a fast-paced mix of action, adventure and humor. However, it is said to be a film with a Christmas theme.

There is talk of a “completely new universe within the Christmas genre”. Filming for the film is scheduled to start this year with Johnson and Evans as an unlikely duo, so the story was penned by Hiram Garcia – and lo and behold, he also worked on “Red Notice”. Meanwhile, Jake Kasdan, who in turn has already directed the two “Jumanji” remakes from 2017 and 2019 with “The Rock”, will take over the direction.

Even more familiar faces

According to the report, Chris Morgan, who has already had a hand in some “Fast & Furious” parts, is responsible for the script. A release of the film can probably be expected in 2023 at the earliest – just in time for Christmas?
