Düsseldorf Kunstpalast: Re-opening with a spectacular concept – culture

While Felix Krämer, General Director of the Düsseldorf Art Palace, As he and his team prepared to re-present the city’s collection, he and his team made a few surprising discoveries. So a rococo dress turned up in the depot that no one had had on the list and that now exudes pompadour glamor in a corner display case. The monumental gate, previously called the “Islam Gate”, will have to be classified differently in the future: material investigations have shown that the gate, which dates back to the 15th century, is largely made of American redwood, which could only have been added in the 20th century.
