If you appear on TV, your cell phone is full of news and you can feel important, that’s good for your ego – and twice as good for local politicians, because they are rarely allowed to feel important in front of a large audience (even though they are).
So to Klaus Stieringer, head of the SPD city council in Bamberg. Bamberg’s Sozis can be imagined like Heidelberg Castle: a surface that is still attractive (after all, Andreas Starke has ruled the Catholic cathedral city as a Sozi for 15 years), but the bullet holes are clearly visible even from a distance, which is why many speak not of the castle, but of the ruins . Suffice it to say that seven months ago half a hundred investigators not only combed the town hall on suspicion of infidelity, but also stopped by the OB estate. He could be heard with the sentence: “First of all, fake accounts give people the opportunity to move around anonymously under the protection of personal rights in social networks. I think that’s okay.”
Now you could say that someone applied for the, well, stupidest sentence of the year. But you don’t have to. Stieringer sees it in a similar way now. His TV statement was “stupid” and “not okay”, he says on the phone. Resignation? In any case, he will take full responsibility. After all. But somehow the Heidelberg ruins are more attractive.
