Due to the risk of a Cévennes episode, lessons and school transport canceled

Classes, extracurricular activities and school transport are canceled this Wednesday in part of Gard, due to the Cévennes episode which threatens the department until Thursday. However, reception is maintained in the establishments.

Schools, middle schools and high schools are affected in Alès, Anduze, Bessèges, Brignon, Genolhac, La Grand-Combe, Le Martinet, Le Vigan, Lédignan, Quissac, Salindres, Saint-Ambroix, Saint-Christol-lès-Alès, Saint-Géniès de Malgoires, Saint-Hippolyte du Fort, Saint-Jean du Gard, Sumène and Saint-Martin-de-Valgégales. A new Cévennes episode is planned until Thursday, in the east of Occitanie. Some 200 to 300 mm of precipitation is expected in the region by Thursday. The heaviest rains should probably fall on the Cévennes and the Piedmont, Météo-France indicated. Hérault and Gard have been placed on orange alert for rain and flooding.
