Prince William and Duchess Kate are said to be moving to the country with their children. Is this also a change of school for Prince George?

There have been rumors since the end of January that Prince William (39) and Duchess Kate (40) are planning to move to the country. The royal couple and their three children Prince George (8), Princess Charlotte (6) and Prince Louis (3) currently live alternately in the London residence, Kensington Palace, and the Anmer Hall country estate in Norfolk. As the British “Daily Mail” now reports, the family is said to be making “rapid progress” on their relocation plans. As a result, Prince George will soon be attending a new school.

According to the Daily Mail, William and Kate are currently “making the final preparations” to transfer George to a new school in Berkshire in September. The Lambrook School near Ascot is said to be the favourite. The 8-year-old and his sister Charlotte are currently attending Thomas’s Battersea School in London. The 6-year-old is said to continue going to school there. The youngest, Prince Louis, is also expected to attend Thomas’s Battersea School.

As “The Times” reported a few days ago, Prince William and Duchess Kate looked at several schools in the county of Berkshire last year. Among them were Lambrook and Pappelwick.

New residence near Windsor?

According to royal expert Hilary Rose, the Windsor area is said to be “intended” as the couple’s new home. Supposedly it should go to the “discreet, affluent, small network of rural villages” – close to which Kate’s parents, Carole (67) and Michael Middleton (72), live. The two live in Bucklebury, which, like Windsor, is in the county of Berkshire.

The possible move would also bring the two closer to Queen Elizabeth II (95), who stays at Windsor Castle for most of the year. In addition, according to The Times, the alleged plan is the clearest sign yet that the couple is preparing to play a more important role in the royal family.

Are William and Kate drawn to the Fort Belvedere country estate?

“The Telegraph” had already reported at the end of Januarythat the royals could imagine living in Windsor or the surrounding area. They would probably leave London’s Kensington Palace behind for that. They are said to have eyed the country estate of Fort Belvedere, once the love nest of Edward VIII (1894-1972) and Wallis Simpson (1896-1986). Queen Elizabeth II is currently renting the property with pool and tennis court to a private individual. However, according to the Daily Mail, the couple are still looking at potential properties in the Windsor area.
