When Queen Elizabeth II abdicates and her son Prince Charles ascends the throne, Duchess Camilla becomes the “Queen Consort”. She hopes that this will also attract more attention to her charitable work on the subject of domestic violence.

In a BBC interview, Duchess Camilla spoke about her commitment to combating domestic violence. “It has to start in school. Boys have to be taught in school that they should respect girls,” demands the wife of the future king of Great Britain. On average, a woman is killed by a man every three days. Camilla has been committed to the topic since 2016.

At that time, the Duchess personally came into contact with an affected person. Diana Parker, the mother of a domestic abuse victim, shared the story of her daughter Joanna Simpson with her. Simpson was killed within earshot of her children by her own husband. At that time, Duchess Camilla promised that she would do everything she could to make the issue of domestic violence better known to the public. In the current BBC interview, Diana Parker again sat next to the Duchess of Cornwall.

Duchess Camilla wants to campaign for domestic violence for life

Duchess Camilla also hopes that her future title of “Queen Consort” and her new role alongside the future king will draw more attention to her charitable work. “I’ll keep doing it,” she said, adding, “When I start something like this, I don’t stop in the middle, I’ll do it for the rest of my life.”

Queen Elizabeth II recently expressed the wish that the wife of the heir to the throne, Prince Charles, should bear the title “Queen Consort” after her death. The Queen’s husband, Prince Philip, who died last April at the age of 99, was only known as the Prince Consort. Duchess Camilla emphasized in the BBC interview that she considers it a “great honor” to be able to be British Queen in the future. Incidentally, the interview was recorded before she, Prince Charles and the Queen tested positive for the corona virus.
