drones and dogs specialized in the search for human remains deployed

Drones fly over the town and dogs specializing in the search for corpses must also be hired for these new searches.

Research resumes at Vernet. According to information from BFM DICI, investigators from the Criminal Research Institute of the National Gendarmerie (IRCGN) are still present in the town, 17 days after the disappearance of little Émile.

After hearing residents again last week at the Seyne-les-Alpes gendarmerie and appraising the vehicles, new investigations are being undertaken on the ground.

Drones have been deployed in the town of Vernet and are currently flying over several sectors.

Dogs specialized in the search for corpses

At the same time, dogs specializing in the search for blood or corpses must be hired in the town and around the hamlet of Haut-Vernet.

“These are dogs that do not work in the first days of a disappearance, when we hope to find a missing person alive. Initially, it is the Dog Investigation Groups (GIC) then the Saint-Hubert dogs who are engaged.

These investigations were planned and scheduled in order to remove the doubts of the investigators. It is again a question of verifying that no body is present in the Haut-Vernet sector.

No track is privileged for the time being. As a reminder, 97 hectares have been raked over the past fortnight in an attempt to locate the missing boy. Without this being able to find the child.
