Drôme and Ardèche on orange alert

Part of France continues to face bad weather. The disturbance that arrived the day before will continue its path this Thursday towards the East with two departments, Drôme and Ardèche, placed on rain-flood alert, according to Météo-France.

Thursday afternoon and evening, heavy precipitation will affect an axis going from the south of Ardèche to the north of Drôme and Isère. The latter department is kept on yellow alert initially, “but an evolution of the alert level (…) remains possible”. In total, Météo-France has placed 38 departments on yellow rain-flood alert.

Storms still present

The public establishment further indicates that “the situation will also need to be monitored in the east of Ain and the west of Savoies where accumulations of around 70 mm in a few hours are possible”. Seven departments are also on wind yellow vigilance (Loire-Atlantique, Vendée, Allier, Puy-de-Dôme, Ain, Rhône and Isère). Thunderstorms will also hit France again with 46 departments on yellow alert.

At daybreak, temperatures will range from 10 degrees in the interior of Brittany to 15 to 17 in the southern half, 17 to 20 on the shores of the Mediterranean. The maximums will range from 16 to 24 degrees in the northern half of France but 26 to 27 on the Alsace plain, from 22 to 26 further south and 25 to 28 around the Big Blue.
