Dresden researchers produce laboratory chip against cancer
A micro-laboratory in Dresden works with human cells. Medicines can therefore be tested more precisely than ever before. Also against diseases other than cancer.
Dresden. A new type of microlaboratory is discovering what can prevent cancer cells and metastases from growing. Dresden scientists have already developed their lab-on-chip to such an extent that it is available for initial applications, the first in the world. This is what Frank Sonntag reports. He is responsible for biosystems technology at the Dresden Fraunhofer Institute for Materials and Beam Technology (IWS). More than ten years of preparatory work went into the microlaboratory system.
