The popular series “Downton Abbey” will probably be continued with a third movie. This was announced by actress Imelda Staunton.

The successful British historical series has a total of 52 episodes in six seasons.Downton Abbey” about the aristocratic Crawley family so far. Staunton had this information elicited from presenter Zoe Ball (53) in a BBC radio interview on March 20th. Staunton did not reveal any further details about the potential third “Downton Abbey” movie in the interview. However, it can be assumed that the series’ regular cast will also return for a possible final film. The first movie “Downton Abbey” in particular was extremely successful financially, grossing a staggering sum of around 195 million US dollars at the worldwide box office. Part two still did more than decently, grossing over $92 million. Actress Staunton only joined the cast for the movies. She plays the character Lady Bagshaw.
