Double murder trial in Altenstadt – son admits killing – Bavaria

The defendant in the trial for the murder of his own father and his partner in Altenstadt (Neu-Ulm district) has fundamentally admitted murder before the Memmingen regional court. In a statement read out by his defense attorney on Thursday, the man explained, according to the court statement, that an argument had occurred during which the father and his partner were killed. His wife was waiting in front of the house. The crime took place in April last year.

The public prosecutor accuses the defendant and his wife of having jointly murdered the father and his partner, who lived in the neighboring house, out of greed. The prosecution alleges that, among other things, they wanted to prevent the father from reversing the gift of a house to his son.

According to a court spokesman, the defendant stated in the statement that on the night of the crime he had entered his father’s house through a tilted window and wanted to slip a firearm to his father because of a falling out – and then report him to the police. But his father’s partner surprised him and he then woke up. In the course of the ensuing argument, both were killed, among other things, by being stabbed with a knife from their father’s kitchen that he had taken.
