The actress went under the knife for beauty. While other stars hide such interventions, Doreen Dietel wants to stand by them.
In May last year, Doreen Dietel had to cope with an unexpected diagnosis after a routine check-up: black skin cancer was discovered in the actress. She had to have a melanoma on her breast removed immediately. Further interventions followed on around 30 conspicuous areas of her body.
This shocking experience did not stop the 48-year-old from going under the knife voluntarily. But unlike most of her prominent colleagues, Doreen Dietel does not want to keep her beauty surgery a secret. “It’s an aesthetic thing and I’m entitled to it,” she explained to her followers on Instagram and appeared in her story shortly after the procedure.
“I don’t need to feel sorry for you”
The sight is frightening: the actress’s face is noticeably swollen, her eyes are bloodshot, her skin is covered with green and blue spots. Doreen Dietel wrapped a bandage around her head that reached under her chin.
“I had lipoedema here, which I had removed,” explains the 48-year-old. In addition, she had fat removed from her chin during general anesthesia. Even if it looks bad, she is not in pain, according to the former jungle camper. “I don’t need to feel sorry for you and I’m not poor either. The surgery was planned,” she emphasized.
A cosmetic surgery almost cost her her career
The procedure almost cost the actress, previously known for her naturalness, her career. Doreen Dietel had to struggle with the consequences for many years, underwent cortisone injections and subsequent correction sessions, but the distinctive lip lines have remained to this day. Apparently she hasn’t sworn off cosmetic surgery for that reason.
