Doppelganger killed with 56 stab wounds – trial begins in January – Bavaria

She is said to have killed a doppelganger from Baden-Württemberg and faked her own death with the help of an acquaintance in order to have a new life – a young woman is expected to stand trial in Ingolstadt in January, along with a suspected accomplice. A court spokesman said on Thursday that the regional court there had approved charges of, among other things, common murder against the two. The first day of the hearing is scheduled for January 16, 2024. According to the information, the court is planning a total of 28 trial days. There could therefore be a verdict at the beginning of May.

The public prosecutor’s office assumes that the defendant wanted to start a new life with her ex-boyfriend after family disputes over her relationship and therefore wanted to fake her death. At the beginning of August 2022, the then 23-year-old German-Iraqi woman is said to have picked up her future victim of the same age, who looked very similar to her, in Eppingen (Heilbronn district) with her acquaintance, who was also accused. On the drive to Ingolstadt, the two are said to have lured the young woman out of the car in a forest, knocked her down and killed her with 56 stab wounds.

They then parked the car with the woman’s body in Ingolstadt, where it was later found by relatives of the suspects. They in turn thought it was the suspect. It was only during the autopsy that doubts about his identity arose. The woman, who was initially thought to be dead, and her acquaintance were arrested.
