At the beginning of the week, Mario Vuskovic was at the Hamburg public prosecutor’s office. The occasion was encouraging. The Hamburger SV defender, who has been banned since autumn 2022 on suspicion of doping, was given his possessions – mobile phones, laptop and so on – which the criminal authorities had confiscated from him and his apartment months ago in the course of fraud investigations. Now everything has been returned, along with the officially certified good news: not the slightest suspicion of doping has been found, the investigation is over. Rather unlikely that the public prosecutor’s office will now bring charges.
