Don’t want the Internet? You can also pay the toll in free flow at tobacconists

The A14, which links La Défense to Orgeval (Yvelines), switched to free flow on Wednesday. No need to stop at the toll, which has disappeared, but it is still obligatory to pay the toll on this Paris-Normandy route.

How ? By electronic toll, via the Internet by entering your license plate number on the Sanef website, the operator. Or, it’s something new since this Thursday, by going to the tobacconists. For this, they offer the Nirio payment solution from Française des Jeux.

From June 24, it will be the same for the tolls of the A79, which connects the departments of Allier and Saône-et-Loire, then of the A13 from the opening, planned for the end of 2024, of the free flow on this axis which connects Paris to Caen.

Nearly 4,000 partner businesses offer this service launched Thursday morning in a Parisian tobacco shop by the leaders of the FDJ and the highway manager Sanef, accompanied by the president of the National Confederation of Tobacconists. With the ambition that, ultimately, the 10,000 Nirio approved points of sale will be able to do so.

“Third payment solution”

“We want to offer this third payment solution, complementary to the electronic toll badge and our sanef.com site. It is particularly intended for people who want to continue to pay the toll in cash or who are uncomfortable with digital tools,” said Arnaud Quémard, general manager of Sanef, in a press release.

“After taxes, fines or public bills as well as rents and water bills, this free-flow highway payment solution strengthens the role of our partner merchants present throughout the national territory”, welcomed his next to Stéphane Pallez, the president of the FDJ.
