In Swabia, a farmer is said to have let a sick cow die suffering. According to a police spokesman on Wednesday, the animal had been rotting alive over the last few weeks. The veterinary office also found areas on the cow that were worn down to the bones, the police said in a statement. The owner of the animal from the Donau-Ries district must now answer on suspicion of a crime under the Animal Welfare Act.
