Millions of Germans are currently doing their best for the many people in need of the Ukraine war. But only very few helpers know that the state also rewards a lot of commitment financially, as Christina Georgiadis, spokeswoman for the United Income Tax Aid (VLH), explains. Those who are there for others in need can save on taxes. Monetary donations, invested leisure time or the used television for the refugee accommodation are tax deductible.
