Michael Cohen, once Donald Trump’s right-hand man, has now testified against him in the hush money trial. Son Eric Trump is stunned.

New York – In the hush money trial against Donald Trump, his former lawyer Michael Cohen held the 77-year-old responsible for the payment to ex-porn star Stormy Daniels. The $130,000 in hush money wasn’t about his family, it was just about the election campaign. Eric Trump, the ex-president’s son, fumed after Cohen’s testimony in the New York court.

“A convicted guy and a porn actress as witnesses” – Eric Trump on his father’s hush money trial

In an interview with television presenter Laura Ingraham, Eric Trump said on the US broadcaster Fox News, that Cohen was very angry with Trump because he was denied a job in the White House. “He’s a convicted guy and he’s disbarred,” Eric Trump said. The 40-year-old is also alluding to the fact that Cohen spent three years in prison, among other things for violating campaign finance laws.

In his conversation with Ingraham, Eric Trump continued to try to discredit the witnesses in the trial: “The key witnesses are a convicted guy who has lost his license – and a porn actress.”

Prosecutors accuse Trump of trying to improve his chances of winning the 2016 presidential election by paying porn actress Stormy Daniels $130,000. Although the payment itself was not illegal, Trump allegedly manipulated documents when refunding Cohen to conceal the true reason for the transaction. This made the payments illegal campaign financing.

The then presidential candidate Trump ordered him to pay Stormy Daniels shortly before the 2016 US election and promised a refund of the money, Cohen said in court in New York on Monday (May 13).

Eric Trump talks about a lot of resentment and resentment on Cohen’s part

Moderator Laura Ingraham asked Eric Trump Fox News, how Michael Cohen could ever have been hired – she considers him an “idiot”. Trump avoided the question and instead said that there was now a lot of resentment and resentment on Cohen’s part.

But Eric Trump also seems to have his own dissatisfaction. This is what the American website reports RawStory that the ex-president’s son was seen using his cell phone in the Manhattan courthouse, even though Judge Juan Merchan had banned the use of mobile devices in court.

NBC News had drawn attention to the incident. The judge also banned Donald Trump from speaking. The 77-year-old is also not allowed to persuade anyone to discuss potential witnesses in the case. It is unclear whether Eric Trump violated this rule. He was sitting behind his father when he tweeted about Michael Cohen’s statement that he had never seen anything so rehearsed, according to the report.

Donald Trump himself also seems to be particularly noticeable recently Fox News and to rely on their experts. This is what the American website reports Mediaite that on Monday, after leaving the courtroom in New York, Trump quoted several media personalities as saying that he should not stand trial.

The ex-president read several excerpts from various experts who had expressed criticism of the prosecution. Trump quoted Michael Smerconish from the television network CNNbut most of them are regular guests Fox News: Andy McCarthy, Marc Thiessen, Jonathan Turley and Byron York. According to the report, Trump also spoke of frequent Fox guest Matt Whitaker.

Donald Trump seems to particularly like Jonathan Turley’s opinion, writes Mediaite further. In relation to Michael Cohen’s testimony, Turley tweeted on Tuesday (May 14): “How bad will cross-examination be for Michael Cohen? After lying to Congress, courts, banks and almost everyone else, things will be bad. Under cross-examination, Cohen faces a reckoning of biblical proportions.”

Donald Trump wants to run against the current US President Joe Biden in the US presidential election in November. Trump currently has to answer in court in a total of four trials. The hush money for ex-porn star Stormy Daniels in 2016 is one of them. He is also charged with the storming of the US Capitol in 2021, with secret documents at Mar-a-Lago in 2022 and with a Georgia conspiracy in 2020/2021 to overturn the election results.
