New List Released: Where’s the Contents of 43 “Locked” Folders?

A judge released more details about Donald Trump’s house search. Including a list of documents that were confiscated from the ex-US President. The contents of 43 folders were missing.
A US federal court in West Palm Beach has ordered two classified FBI transcripts into the raid on ex-US President Donald Trump to be released. Among them is a detailed list of the government documents confiscated. Particularly striking: 43 folders classified as “locked up” were empty. Nothing is known about the whereabouts of the documents contained therein. Some of the secret documents were randomly thrown together with books, magazines and newspaper clippings.
33 boxes confiscated from Donald Trump
The US federal police FBI searched Trump’s property in Mar-a-Lago in early August. The former head of state is accused of having taken some highly confidential state secrets from the White House to Florida – although this is forbidden. During the raid, officials confiscated 33 boxes, according to the list that has now been published. Among them were:
- Three documents marked “confidential”
- 17 documents marked “secret”
- Seven documents marked “top secret”
- 43 empty folders with the note “under lock and key”
- 28 empty folders marked “Return to Secretariat/Military Staff”
Everything has to go into the archive
In fact, US Presidents are required to hand over all documents to the National Archives after leaving office. This also applies to transcripts of telephone calls and electronic communications. However, Donald Trump did not comply with the requirement. Last February he had already complied with a request from the National Archives to return some of the documents.
Judge Aileen Cannon ordered the release of the FBI material. Donald Trump’s defense team had applied to her for the appointment of a so-called special master. This function is a kind of mediator and should, according to the ex-president, pre-sort the documents confiscated from him and thus prevent the investigators from seeing sensitive correspondence with his lawyers. However, Cannon has not yet decided on the appointment.
