At an event in Texas, the former US President Donald Trump speaks about his booster vaccination against the coronavirus – and thus gets the disapproval of some supporters.

Former US President Donald Trump announced at a live show in Dallas that he had received a booster vaccination against the corona virus – and received boos from the audience for it. Trump made the unveiling on Sunday evening during the final stop on his so-called “History Tour,” a live interview show with former Fox News host Bill O’Reilly.

Donald Trump protests against boos

“Both the president and I are vaccinated,” O’Reilly said at the American Airlines Center, as seen on a video broadcast online from his No Spin News program. Then the conservative moderator wanted to know from Trump whether he had received a booster vaccination.

“Are you boosted?” He asked the Republican. “Yes,” answered Trump, whereupon there were occasional loud reactions from the audience. “Me too,” said O’Reilly, and the excitement increased.

“Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no!”, Trump protested against the expressions of displeasure and then waved him off: “That’s okay, it’s a very small group over there.”

The ex-president had previously spoken to O’Reilly about vaccination against Covid-19. “If you don’t want to get it, you shouldn’t be forced to get it,” he said. At the same time he defended vaccination. This saved numerous lives.

President Biden relies on vaccination requirements

Trump told the Wall Street Journal in September that he would probably not be boosted. Elsewhere, however, he had also recommended people in the country to get vaccinated – but always emphasized that he believed in the freedom of the individual. The 75-year-old was diagnosed with Covid-19 shortly before the 2020 presidential election. He was being treated in a military hospital at the time.

US President Joe Biden is now relying on extensive vaccination requirements. The Democrat repeatedly calls for vaccinations and, unlike Trump, has had a vaccine injected into his upper arm in front of the cameras. The vaccination campaign got off to a good start in the United States, but is now making slow progress. So far, 61.5 percent of the approximately 330 million people in the USA have been vaccinated twice. Almost 30 percent of them also received a booster vaccination. Far fewer Republicans than Democrats are still vaccinated.
